Vargas recieved yet another phone-call from Rasputin (former NAWA president) Rasputin explained after NAWA's failures that he wanted to get back into wrestling full-time, and had just recently captured EHWF's World Heavyweight championship. Vargas insantly became interested. Looking forward to working with Rasputin again, he ended up signing a six figure deal with President Matt Carver and EHWF. Matt Carver who ironicly wrestled as Lil' Biggs, in NAWA. Once he got into EHWF, Rasputin and Vargas fueded for quite some time making memorable matches everytime they got into the ring together, before teaming up and ultimately winning the Tag Team Championships, Vargas has won the Tag Team championship titles a record, 11 times, four of those title reigns came with his brother Gunner Vargas (who joined EHWF a year after Vargas had already established himself.) as they represented their duo, "The Outlawz". Vargas' other Tag Team title reigns we're with Rasputin (3x) Kashmaster (2x) Lil' Biggs once (1x) and Damien (1x), Vargas spent three and a half years in the EHWF, and was EHWF's top heel the whole time he was active, also becoming an EHWF GRANDSLAM CHAMPION. Vargas fueded with many different superstars while being in the EHWF, most notable we're Rasputin, Ghost and Damien Ryle. Damien being the "legend" of EHWF before Vargas was signed, and Ghost coming in a year and a half later as the cocky rookie. Rasputin, Damien, and Vargas all maintained respect for one an other no matter what the outcome. However, Ghost and Vargas truely hated one another out side of the ring which made their fueds amazing to watch. Vargas was deemed the Most Hated Wrestler throughout the three and a half years spent at EHWF. In the beginning of 2002, President Carver got ill, and left EHWF, leaving it up in the air. With Damien also sidelined with an illness, Carver had strong ties with Vargas, and ultimately left EHWF sole owner ship to him in his Last will and testament. Thus angering Ghost further, who felt he should of gotten something for all his time and efforts. Vargas, who sought outside help in than XHWF owner Trent Medlow. With Medlow's guidance, Vargas control of the EHWF, and ran it for about six months, Ghost was quoted as saying in Jason Kincaid's interview "He ran it right into the fuckin' ground that's for sure." With Vargas in the driver's seat, the EHWF lost top-stars such as Damien (due to cancer) and Ghost due to him refusing to work for Vargas. With piss-poor ratings and more problems with his wrestlers namely Reaper and BioHazard Davis, Vargas walked away from the EHWF with his middle fingers held high. However, Vargas didn't completely flush the tiolet on EHWF as he sold it to Trent Medlow, who merged the remaining roster with the XHWF and also changed XHWF's weekly show to Saturday night Slaughter in homage to the fallen Matt Carver. The final EHWF Pay-Per-View "Burn In Hell" was a great success, as EHWF was officially handed off to the XHWF. With all the Carver family in attendance, Ghost made one final apperance, a main-event stage was set for Ghost and Vargas to go head-to-head for the vacant EHWF World Heavyweight championship; the winner of this match was to go down in history as the final EHWF champion. It was a great match through and through, nobody knew what was going to happen til the end, but it was Ghost who prevailed defeating Vargas for the championship. Unbelievably the two shook hands afterwards. Three weeks later however, Ghost would lose his championship to PowerBomb Tom as he united the EHWF and XHWF championships. It is also noted that Vargas, also had a strong influence in his brother Gunner's success as well as former valets Kimberly and Kate Powers (former EHWF World champion Stuart Powers younger sister) in their wrestling careers and success. Between the two of them racking up 22 women's championship reigns in EHWF. After the Burn in Hell PPV, Vargas took two years off from wrestling, to Trent Medlow's dismay, as he was heavily trying to presuade him to join with the XHWF. Reluctantly, Vargas would make sparadic television apperances for XHWF over those two years. Despite his lack of appearances, he racked up five brief European championship reigns. Leading President Medlow to take alot of heat for giving Vargas the "royal treatment" because of his name. To rid the controversay Vargas left XHWF and joined Jay Dubb's Violent Championship Wrestling. Despite Vargas having a strong level of respect for President Dubbs, he never was able to keep a promotion going for very long, and was closed after a few months. Vargas was able to defeat Will Clayton for the VCW Hardcore championship though. After the closing of VCW, Vargas went un-employed for awhile and began training young wrestlers again. Vargas wasn't seen on wrestling television for another three years. March 2008 - Vargas, thriving for the thrill of competition yet again - signed contracts with two wrestling promotions. Vargas joined the Extreme Measues Federation, as well as the Extreme Wrestling League. After a long time away from the squared circle, Vargas made his way back to the ring, Now aboard the EMF which has been owned by Michael Walker since it's birth in 1998. Also signing with the EWL owned by Dom Blair. Since his return, he's emassed 53 wins and just 11 loses. Vargas has been successful in both federations, racking up most of those wins. In EMF, Vargas got his first taste of gold in the July 2008 PPV tournament, "Survival of the Fittest" in an Extreme title 30 minute time limit match featuring current Extreme champion Tomko, former champion Ricky Ramon, EMF hall of famer Angelus Archer, current EMF World Heavyweight champion Troy Gafgen, and Dewey Pond, along with Vargas - the match had it's bright points, with Vargas able to pin Tomko recieving the Extreme strap with 3 minutes to go, however Tomko was able to captilize and defeat Vargas in the end to ultimately retain his Extreme championship. Vargas however was able to defeat Tomko later that month, earning his second Extreme championship reign, only to lose the championship for a second time to Tomko yet again a month and a half later. Vargas than joined forces with the biggest heel group in EMF, joining up with acting EMF president, John Cena along with his handpicked bad-boys Kevin Bourne and Ricky Ramon calling themselves "The Elite". However, Vargas never got to fully take advantage of the Elite as he was taken off EMF television for three months after suffering an ankle injury in a match against The Punisher. With Vargas out rehabbing his injuries, the hits just kept coming. Vargas lost his father, former NWA great Bagwell Vargas to lung cancer. Vargas than made his suprise comeback November's PPV, Latino Heat, smashing his signature acoustic equalizer over the head of The Punisher. Vargas came back to EMF head strong and with a chip on his shoulder, quickly turning his back on the Elite. This started the fued between good friends turned bitter foes, when he begun fueding with "The Chosen One" Kevin Bourne. In 2009, Vargas was labled as a drunken asshole who refused to work and sell for the new-guys. After a heated arguement with President Walker, it looked as though Vargas was on his way out of EMF. But two week's later he returned to attack Chris Legend, who had become a thorn in Vargas' side in other federations. Vargas was livid to find that Walker had signed Legend who was always having manic outbursts and weird problems. Walker and the EMF brass booked Vargas against Legend four times in Vargas' next five matches. Vargas gaining a win over him each and every time. Vargas was sick and tired of beating Legend night after night, he than went on strike and refused to wrestle anyone else. Not wrestling and only making television appereances crowosing and drinking with EMF's resident Bad boy Broski "Strong Island's Finest" Brandon Eastman, he was becoming a thorn in EMF's side and a headache for President Walker. After a fued with Ville Veneski, in September of '09, for the PPV "Last Stand" Vargas was scheduled to take on Veneski in a Career Vs. Career match. Vargas was favoured to finally put Ville Veneski out of the EMF, who had become overly annoying over his course of time in EMF. Vargas, who had a match against Troy Gafgen the week before the PPV, defeated Troy and announced his retirement that night, leaving the EMF as an active wrestler, but was hired on as Security as well as a weekly article writer. Unlike the EMF, which has been running for 11 solid years, the EWL was basicly brand new. Upon his arrival, Vargas joined forces with "The True English Patriot" Chris England and shortly after the two won the Tag Team Championships in a tournament for the vacant titles. Known together as the "Beatdown Express". England's little siter, Shelly B. England became quite fond of Vargas and the two sparked an on-screen as well as off-screen relationship. The three practicly ran EWL and at one time had every championship except for the World and TV titles. With England as United States champion, Vargas Intercontiental champion, along being tag team champions. Shelly*B also had the stranglehold on the Women's championship. Vargas defeated Jeff Hardy for the Intercontiental championship on May 10th 2008's edition of Saturday night Inferno, and defended it successfuly in every title reign, however almost losing it once to Spike Love during their heated fued. Vargas began fueding with Chris Legend, (who was than EWL's World Heavyweight champ) at the end of June, and disbanned from the Beatdown Express, going on his own. Legend and Vargas had a heated fued as well, leading to Legend and Vargas in a non-title match at EWL's June PPV Heatwave, however Vargas no-showed the event, saying he deserved the world title shot all along, setting up another meeting of the two at July's PPV High Noon, this time, Legend put his World Heavyweight strap on the line in a parking lot street fight. The two had a crazy match that lasted nearly a half an hour, but in the end Vargas became the sixth EWL World Heavyweight champion, after captilizing on a 3 on 1 attack, after recieving help from Freddie Blassie and Trent Medlow. (who got a job at EWL as booker.) Vargas was known for his bitter fueds with Chris Legend, Troy Gafgen, Mike Williams, and Spike Love. EWL closed down September of 2008, leaving Vargas the final and longest reigning World Heavyweight champion of the storied promotion. After EWL's death, in September of 2008, Vargas was turned onto a new wrestling federation, by the name of "WU: Wrestling Unplugged". Troy Gafgen of all people had sent Vargas a text message telling him to meet with WU's president and owners Jayson Burrows and Joe Santiago about signing a deal with the new promotion. With EWL gone, Vargas shot right over to WU Headquarters and within minutes had a deal signed with Burrows and his WU brand. Vargas was quickly thrust into the spotlight, at WU's very first PPV: See No Evil, Chad Vargas debuted successfully by defeating Cameron Drake and Troy Gafgen to become WU's first ever 'Contender champion' a championship that had to be defended five consecutive times at five consecutive events, and if successful after your fifth victory you we're than awarded number one contendership for the World Heavyweight championship. Vargas would have four successful defenses before losing the strap to Skull Daze. Later on that month at October's pay-per-view, The Bleeding Vargas would have an epic triple threat match for the World heavyweight championship featuring champion Requiem and Skull Daze. Vargas would fall short, as Requiem retained, but it was a bloody battle for the ages. Vargas would than leave the WU for a month, and return later at November's PPV, Thankful Sins where he beat up Angel Saint-James and Joey Bohnny backstage. Vargas debuted his new hired bodygaurd the following week. A blonde country boy by the name of Mason Dixon was hired to keep Vargas' best laid plans in check. Dixon quickly got Vargas thrown back into the championship title picture earning a shot at CJ Gates; to reclaim the Contender championship (which was renamed to the One Shot championship). Vargas was heard throughout the arena as the winner, despite an arguement between Santiago and than General manager, Ari Chase. Chase upheld the victory setting up a triple threat match for next week's Parental Advisory featuring Gates and up coming Luther Savage. The match was to never take place though, however as Jayson Burrows suddenly closed the doors on his asteemed promotion. Vargas also was slated as the #2 seed in the 10-Man Pyscho Circus Death Match for Requiem's World Heavyweight champion at December's PPV: Season's Beatings, however match was unable to take place as Jayson Burrows would up selling his esteemed Wrestling Unplugged to the AWF. With the AWF buying out Burrows WU, also meant they had purchased the Unplugged roster. Vargas, along with Brandon Maddox and Requiem would all sign with AWF but all three pulled out of their contracts before the first AWF television show was to take place. The same would happen with the NLWF, as Vargas and Maddox signed only to pull-out a day later after being put on their developmental rosters, it was a slap in the face for the two top stars of the WU. While Vargas' return to the squared circle in 2008 has mainly been successful, also grabbing success in the HWA and ILW-TCW. Mediocre success with WAR. He's also had some bad luck with a few different promotions. Including NWA-TNA, XWE, CWA. With NWA-TNA Vargas was the head of controversy as he had a bitter dispute with management, along with a heated argument with wrestler TJ Lightning. Lightning was the only wrestler in NWA-TNA allowed to drop the f-bombs, and when Vargas dropped a few he was suspended. Vargas laughed it off, and called her owner a sweat-hog after seeing her Myspace photos, Vargas was later banned from NWA-TNA, only to later join NWA-TNA in July of 2009 as a masked wrestler "Inverter II" to make Chris Legend's life a living hell, he was however snuffed out after he ripped his mask off and slammed Legend with insults. While Vargas did manage to go undefeated with a record of 5-0, Vargas was ultimately banned from NWA-TNA for life. Vargas was also banned from XWE after he called owners Ricky Ocho and Cyrus Deasel queers. After Vargas was banned, the XWE folded a few months there after. Before the banning, however, Vargas was able to capture their Hardcore championship due to the 24/7 rule when he attacked and pinned former XWE and EWL World Heavyweight champion Christian Storm backstage. The CWA was also another federation Vargas and fellow EMF wrestler Tomko joined just to harrass Chris Legend. Legend however became a cry baby and actually admitting that Vargas and Tomko hurt his feelings so bad, Vargas was later banned for taking personal shots at the owner with the John Cena fetish, Ryne Reynolds. Vargas is now one of the most successfull business men in the world, as he has opened up a chain of 'VARGAS GYM'S' all around the country. Vargas has also been a partial owner of NFL team Tennessee Titans, he's also owned part of Jasper-Vargas Motorsports. A NASCAR racing team out of Tennessee, with his nephew Colton Vargas behind the wheel. Vargas is most known for being an Ultimate heel, and will go down in history as one of the best heels in the industry. He is also the man who fueled many young wrestler's career's, such as Tekken Craine, The Knockout Kidd, Kendrick Klutch, Mason Dixon, his younger brother Gunner Vargas and cousins - Jesse James Vargas and Boone Vargas Jr. He's also had many tag team partners and managers over the course of his wrestling career. Some prominate tag team partners include Gunner Vargas, Rasputin, Kashmaster, Lil' Biggs, and Chris England to name a few. Vargas normally rolls by himself though however, but has had a few managers/valets that have stuck by his side for quite some time. They include, his ex-wife Kimberly Jade-Vargas (who also had a record of 8 EHWF Women's championship title reigns.) ex-girlfriend Kate Powers (also, a former 5-time EHWF Women's champion.) Trent Medlow (former XHWF President, EWL booker and Creative control) His latest manager has been "Classie" Freddie Blassie whom has taken his corner in both EMF and EWL. Freddie is currently taking some much needed time off, relaxing in the hills of Tennessee at a retirement home. Vargas has also had two hired bodygaurds have his back at certain times of his career, Darly Oates (EWL) and Mason Dixon (WU). Vargas plans to stay in wrestling for as long as possible, and rack up many more wins and title reigns. 7 time EHWF World Heavyweight 5 time EHWF Television 14 time EHWF Hardcore 16 time EHWF Internet 11 time EHWF Tag Team 1 time IWF Hardcore 2 time IWF Intercontiental 1 time XHW European 1 time EWF World Heavyweight 1 time ECHWL Intercontiental 1 time RBWF Three-Way 5 time XHWF European 1 time HKWF United States 6 time XWF Atlantic 2 time XWF World Heavyweight 1 time XWF Intergender Tag Team 1 time XWF Hardcore Tag Team 2 time ECW Chaotic 1 time ECW Tag Team 1 time EWFA Television 1 time FFF Television 1 time NFW Hardcore 1 time NYEW Tag Team 1 time NCW Universal 1 time VCW Hardcore 1 time XWE Hardcore 2 time EWL Tag Team 1 time EWL Intercontiental 1 time EWL World Heavyweight 3 time EMF Extreme 1 time WU Contender 1 time WU One Shot 1 time HWA World Heavyweight 1 time 96 Promotions Lugar 1 time ILW-TCW International Total Reigns: 97 (c) = current EHWF Grandslam Champion EHWF Hall of Famer EHWF Legend's Club Inductee Longest serving EHWF Commishioner EHWF President (taking over from Matt Carver) EHWF Owner (taking of from Matt Carver) Winning EHWF Super Tournament #12 Unified EHWF and XHWF European championships Undefeated in First Blood matches Won NWA-TNA's Ultimate Dome Tournament Banned from NWA-TNA Wrestling for life Banned from XWE Wrestling for life Banned from CWA Wrestling for life 1st ever EHWF Internet champion 1st ever WU Contender champion 1st ever WU One Shot champion (name changed whilist champ) 1st ever HWA World Heavyweight champion 1st ever 96 Promotions Lugar champion Longest reigning EWL World Heavyweight champion Final reigning EWL World Heavyweight champion Only wrestler to hold two EWL singles titles at once (World & IC) EWL Hall of Famer 2000 EHWF MOST HATED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR 2000 EHWF MOST IMPROVED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR 2001 EHWF MOST HATED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR 2001 EHWF HEEL OF THE YEAR 2002 EHWF MOST HATED WRESTLER OF THE YEAR 2008 EWL MOST IMPRESSIVE WRESTLER OF THE WEEK (4-1/4-7) 2008 EWL SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK (5-18/5-24) 2008 EWL SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK (8-3/8-9) 2008 EWL ROLEPLAYER OF THE WEEK (6-1/6-7) 2008 EWL ALL EYES ON ME AWARD WINNER (Month of June) |
